Outline Host IDAHOBT 2017 Event

International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, Transphobia is recognised on the 17th May each year.

This year on the 20th May 2017 11am – 2pm, Outline hosted a local event in Woking @ The Maybury Centre.  The theme for IDAHOBT in 2017 was the family.

Outline were joined by Surrey Police, Surrey County Council – Fostering and Adoption Service, Adult Education, Libraries Service along with the NHS, Soroptimist International of Woking & District in a public networking event with Coffee and Cake. Various information was available with an opportunity for networking over a nice piece of cake. The event was a success in reaching people both face to face and on social media, we were joined on the day by representatives of the various organisations along with Outline volunteers and members of the public. The networking that occurred was very useful in raising awareness of the issues faced in Surrey surrounding sexuality and gender identity. Thank you for all that came along. Outline hope to host another event next year. If you did not get along this time, watch out for opportunities in the future.
